There’s going to come a time when you’re
going about your workout at the Chicago gym you’ve signed up for and it’s jam
packed with other patrons. While it’s
great when you get to have the gym almost entirely to yourself, when you’re
fighting for equipment with others, it can feel frustrating to try and keep up
the pace of your workout session.
So what can you do to help get yourself
through your workout without the intensity suffering?
Let’s consider a few things that you’ll
want to consider.
Superset
A Machine Exercise With A Dumbbell Exercise
The first thing to consider if you’re
navigating through a very busy chicago health club is rather than supersetting with two
different machine exercises like you may normally do, consider supersetting
with one machine exercise along with one dumbbell based exercise.
This way you won’t have to risk having
someone in both the machines, but rather will just need to have that single
machine free when you need it.
Simply bring your dumbbell to the location
where the machine is and go back and forth between the exercises.
Add
Non-Cardio Machine Intervals
The second great idea to help you get
through a busy Chicago gym with your workout intensity intact is adding some
non-cardio machine intervals.
Usually the first pieces of equipment to
fill up rapidly are the cardio machines, so by moving your cardio away from
these, you can help reduce the influence this has on you.
Instead, perform one of your weight lifting
movements and then go into a minute of burpees, jumping jacks, mountain
climbers, or skipping.
This will allow you to reap very good
cardio conditioning benefits while still maintaining the pace of your workout
session. Best of all, you’ll avoid the
cardio machines entirely.
The added benefit to doing it in this
manner is that you’ll form a circuit style of training, which tends to be
superior from a fat burning point of view.
Consider
Resistance Band Training
Finally, the last thing that you might
consider if you’re finding that it’s especially busy in the gym and getting any
equipment is almost out of the question is resistance band training instead.
Taking a resistance band and going into a
studio to do your workout will help you move away from the hectic gym area and
still challenge your body.
Sometimes moving away from the weights and
doing a different mode of exercise can be just the thing to give your body a
bit of a break and prevent injuries over time.
So there you have a few quick tips for battling
a busy Chicago gym. Use these and you’ll
still be able to get in your workout and enjoy it at the same time.
